The literature is replete...

with empirical research linking health outcomes with nutrition, life-style and exercise.  The overwhelming conclusion is that there is a major crisis  in America  with very serious and very costly consequences.  The interests of large  multinational  food, beverage, agricultural and pharmaceutical organizations  mute  much of the scientific information  linking nutrition and exercise.  Obesity, disease, hunger, malnutrition, food deserts, scarcity, addiction, crime, efficacy of mental health interventions, and disruptive and anti-social  behaviors, all are impacted by nutrition , exercise, and life-style  choices.  The nation is weaker if its citizens are suffering and their options are limited.  For children this results in a lack of learning capacity leading to addictions as an adult.
